About Our Optometrist, Dr. Ta
Dr. Xuan-Mai Thi Ta is an Optometrist trained in primary care, and has been practicing for over 25 years. After a year of settling in Minnesota from Vietnam she was awarded a Masonic Scholarship for her college studies. Dr. Ta completed her undergraduate degree at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnnesota, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois, and then went on to post-graduate training in a Primary Care/Low Vision Residency program at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

She is the Founder/ CEO of the Modern Eyewear Clinic, which she started in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Dr. Ta’s priority is educating her patients about their eyes so they can make informed decisions and have the best eye care and eye wear possible. She enjoys problem solving to help individuals with difficult situations concerning their visual needs. Dr. Ta is also fluent in the Vietnamese language.
Dr. Ta is also passionate in philanthropic missions and is the Founder / CEO of Project Health International, PHI. It is a non-profit organization from Minnesota which started in 2004. The intent of PHI is to serve impoverish patients living in rural areas and in need of cataract surgeries, eye examinations and treatment of eye diseases that they could not possibly afford themselves. She and her family took part in missions to Central America, South East Asia and Africa.
